Why Support Super Sonic? Super Sonic is a California non-profit corporation qualified to accept tax deductible donations under Section 501(c)3 of the Federal tax law. Your donations are tax deductible and help us continue to offer participation in our activities free of charge to the public.
Our Mission. Our mission is to share Brazilian music and dance through FREE drum and dance lessons and FREE participation in our performing arts ensemble. We provide FREE use of Brazilian percussion instruments at OPEN rehearsals held twice weekly in Balboa Park – outdoor on Sundays and indoor at the WorldBeat Center on Wednesdays. We provide a rare opportunity for members of the San Diego community to lean to dance and play music in an organized group setting FREE of charge. MUSIC & DANCE for ALL!
We Are Largely Self-Supporting. While we seek donations of all kinds, Super Sonic is almost entirely self-supporting, earning through paid performances the money used to buy and maintain instruments and costumes and to pay instructors. Members of the public who participate regularly and become sufficiently skilled perform with us and help us earn most of the money we need to continue operating.
What We Need. We need and welcome cash donations that can help cover our operating costs. We also welcome donations of used AUTOS and other goods that we can in turn sell for cash. Certain instruments and Brazilian costumes, recordings, videos, books and decorations also are very welcome – contact us if you think you might have something we can use!
